A Drupalling I will go with Forcontu
tnorman | Drupal 7 | Expert in Drupal 7
06 July, 2015 My experience with Drupal started a few years ago when version 5 came out. At the time I was a newspaper/magazine photographer and was looking to branch out into freelance photograpy and knew I wanted a Content Managagement System to help keep my website up to date with new content. I explored several of CMS's including Joomla and WordPress, but eventually settled on Drupal because of the community. WordPress was popular for photographers, but I thought I would want to have more flexibility. My first Drupal website was Drupal version 5.0. And then I started fresh with Drupal 6 when it came out a couple years later. The last build of the freelance photographer site at http://www.timnormanphoto.com was for version 6. I delved decently deep into Drupal 6 and wrote some small modules to help with the site. Nothing fancy though. With so many photographers out of work and finding new jobs, I thought it might be a good idea to start in a new career as I could see my friends losing jobs and finding new careers.I've enjoyed Drupal and the Drupal community, so a Drupalling I would go. The beginner and intermediate sections for learning Drupal 7 with Forcontu have been interesting. I've never taken an online course like this, but I thought it would help learn the differences between Drupal 6 and Drupal 7 as well as get my feet back into Drupal developing. Much of Drupal 7 is the same or similar to Drupal 6. The advance section for the course, which is coming up, will be where I'm going to enjoy sinking my teeth into. The overall experience has been challenging at times in juggling outside work and life while continuing with course work. You set your own schedule and pace which helps with how fast you are learning or how much you may already know. The moderator/teacher has been wonderfully helpful and forgiving when late nights on my job lead to sleepy nights while going thru the course work. I have learned about modules and sections of Drupal 7 that I didn't have experience with nor knew about. It is an educational course, and I've enjoyed the work. I'm about to start on the next section, the advance section, and that should provide a whole new challenge and learning level. The knowledge I learn in this course should help me rebuild my current site and hopefully give me a basis to start a career as a junior Drupal developer. If you know of someone looking for some extra help on a site or a job opening, please let me know. |
Expert in Drupal 10 Front-End

27 November, 2024 The training is suitable for those looking to master the Drupal front-end. Having, in my case, previous experience, learning was more comfortable. The books are quite complete, with examples and screenshots that facilitate the understanding of concepts. Something that I especially emphasize is the clarity in the explanations, because not only the “how” is addressed, but also the “why” and “what for” of each process, which is key for a deep and meaningful learning. As issues for... [read more] |

19 November, 2024 The course is very complete, everything is detailed in the pdf so you can follow it with the exercises, although it is very frustrating the validation of the bot because you do not know if you are going well or not until the tutor really validates the task and it is very difficult to advance. |
Back-End Experience

07 November, 2024 My experience in this Drupal course has been quite enriching, especially delving into such a robust and versatile platform as Drupal. Before I started, I had a basic notion of CMSs and a very general idea of how they worked, but Drupal always seemed a bit intimidating due to its reputation of being more complex compared to other platforms. However, this course has managed to change my perception and, above all, has given me the confidence to continue exploring in this field. I also... [read more] |

02 November, 2024 In this module of Front-End say that in addition to very well thought out, very complete, has been perfect, ... in a few words, after taking many similar courses the power to perform real practices of all kinds and touching everything, for me unsurpassed ;) again tell you Fran many, many, ... thank you very much ;) As with the previous modules, Bach-End, and Sitebuilder can go performing practical activities during the Master is for me the best system to learn in the best possible way :)... 28 October, 2024 In this course I have acquired and consolidated concepts at a pace that I consider adequate for anyone without previous knowledge of Drupal. It is true that, for those who have a minimum base in the subject, a part of the course may be somewhat easier. It is worth mentioning the speed with which Fran Gil responds to doubts and makes the corrections of those activities that cannot be evaluated automatically. In addition, I greatly appreciated the flexible timetable, which allowed me to... [read more] |

13 October, 2024 I started doing the Site Building one and this time it has been the Front-End one. I hope to be able to do the Backend next year to have the complete master. The content is very well structured and updated, covering everything you need to start in web development. The methodology, which combines theory with a lot of practice, helps to consolidate the knowledge. I would also like to highlight Fran's support, always ready to solve doubts and help you advance. I would like to... [read more] |

13 October, 2024 The methodology of the course seems to me to be very successful. The fact that it is 100% practical makes it interesting and enjoyable. Perhaps, if I had had more time, I could have used it much more. Anyway, it has been a positive experience and, although I knew drupal in previous versions, it has helped me to remember the knowledge and update it. It is a course that I totally recommend both to people who do not know drupal and those who have done it superficially or a long time ago.... [read more] |

13 October, 2024 My experience with the Drupal 10 Site Building Expert course has been very good overall. During the course, I faced some challenges, especially with the initial configuration and installation of some modules, but once assimilated the basic concepts, it is very easy to find the solution and continue. Also, the teacher is always very attentive to students' doubts, offering support and clear explanations when I needed it, which allows you to continue without getting stuck, My... [read more] |
