My Drupal Experience

Thank you for reading my blog post about my experience with Drupal.  I have been working with Drupal for a little over two years, and have previously built a Drupal site for my employer.  I identified an area of our business that was operating with significant inefficiencies.  I realized that by using a content management system hundreds of hours of manual labor could be eliminated and accuracy could be increased.  I began reviewing different CMS platforms before selecting Drupal.  I was attracted to its flexibilty, ability to be customized and large community support.  A number of high profile sites using Drupal was a great endorsement as well.

I began by installing Drupal core, and learning by trial and error.  I reviewed Drupal content and training articles everywhere I could find.  After a few months of working like this I had my site operational.  I used a number of contributed modules including: Views, Panels, Organic Groups, Rules, Features, VBO, and Feeds.  These robust modules took a great deal of time to master, but in the end I am very pleased with the initial version of the site, and it worked very well in production.

I have decided that I would like to build a career out of developing Drupal sites, so I enrolled in the Forcontu course "Expert in Drupal 7."  I was well versed in much of the early and intermediate material, but having no previous formal training I wanted to be sure that all of the holes in my knowledge were filled.  Indeed, there was something new to be learned in each section.  I feel that this course offers quality instruction that has gone a long way to make me a confident developer.

There is always a need to continue learning and growing, which I will do through manuals, and hopefully soon, community events.  I am eager to meet other Drupalists and exchange ideas and experiences.  If you are passionate about Drupal like I am, then I invite you to connect with me via my social media links below.

Thank you very much for reading!

Regards,

Joe Stramel

Good evening all,

After conducting initial research on Drupal courses, I am satisfied with my decision to select Forcontu's offerings. Their courses support self-paced learning, are thorough, and demand a deep understanding of the content, thereby providing you with practical skills applicable in the real world.

The educational experience has been remarkable. Possessing only a fundamental grasp of Drupal, I often experienced frustration in my professional role due to my desire to... [read more]

It has really been a great learning experience this course because in addition to delve into virtually all areas of backend development with Drupal gives us an excellent overview of how to work with backend in general. The attention of the tutors feels quite personalized and always focused on helping you reach the solution of the exercises through your own reasoning, which is very good. Thanks to the course I now feel that I have a much more solid base to continue working with Drupal 10. I... [read more]

Working on the Drupal backend has been an intense and enriching experience for me. The curriculum is structured in a way that includes check-ins, which have been important in measuring my progress. The checks, which are done at intermediate points, have ensured that I have a good understanding of basic concepts such as working with settings forms, creating themes and templates, and using Ajax and jQuery. In addition, I have had the chance to apply everything I have learned, consolidating... [read more]

I would like to thank you for the Drupal 10 Back-End Development Expert course. It has been a real discovery for me and has given me a lot.
Throughout these months, I have learned a lot of new things and I have managed to understand things that were not clear to me before. The content has been great, the explanations very clear, and the way the course is organized has helped me to understand Drupal 10 much better.
There were some modules that were difficult for me, but thanks to... [read more]

My experience with the Drupal 10 course has been extremely good. Despite being fairly new to Drupal, I took on the challenge with enthusiasm. At first, I found some sections of the course quite difficult to understand, but with constant guidance and support from my tutor, I was able to overcome the obstacles and continue to progress without getting discouraged.

The course required a significant investment of time, which was a challenge in itself. However, every hour spent was worth it... [read more]

Hello, good afternoon,
I have taken this 30 hours course on Drupal 10 Site Building, through the Forcontu platform and taught by the teacher Fran Gil. Previously I did not know much about this CMS and the truth is that I really liked the experience. So I hope to expand my knowledge with the next Drupal 10 Back-End and Drupal 10 Front-End courses during the months of September and October of this year.
Having done all three courses, I hope that this is just a start, and that I can... [read more]

Hello good afternoon, to me this course has really seemed a little difficult and in which you have to invest a lot of time, so you have to have time to be able to do it.

I have learned several things that I can use in my work day to day and it is true that the more difficult something seems the prouder you feel when you get it.

Some parts of the syllabus were hard to follow, but with the patience of the tutor you reach the goal.

To the tutor Fran GIl I would give the prize... [read more]

When I decided to take a Drupal 9 / 10 course, I did an extensive search that took me several hours of analysis of the different sites that offer Drupal training.

Having searched for courses in both English and Spanish, what you generally find are courses aimed at groups of employees for companies and camps with attendance at a specific time.

Actually the only place I found that offered a course that adapted to my study pace and was not a youtube or udemy course, was here in... [read more]

Learning Drupal is a challenge, but every step I've been taking with the collaboration of these courses, colleagues, tutor, etc.. Every time I feel that I like Drupal more and more and I see all its potential, I could not have been possible the experience I have without courses or challenges that come posing the day to day.

Overall, I liked it, I learned a lot. It has required a lot of effort, perseverance, dedication and perseverance, but it has been worth it... I recommend it.

If you have no experience I highly recommend this course, and if you already have it, it is not bad to deepen your knowledge. What I liked the most was the final project where I could experiment with modules and topics that I have never had time to try. The course content is very well structured and Fran explains everything clearly and concisely when there are doubts and the manual / book that provides us is very well structured. In addition, the support community is very active and they are... [read more]
